In 'show-business', there are two types of people - the ones up the front getting the glory, and the ones hidden at the back who are the reason for it.
This statement adequately describes Andrew Griffiths, the Welsh composer, producer, musician and film maker. He may not be a household name, but is known throughout the UK industry and further abroad as one of it's finest.
It all started at the age of seven, when Andrew began playing the trumpet. Soon enough if it was evident that Andrew had a unique gift, and he soon began to learn other instruments and pursuing excellence. Throughout his teenage years Andrew was a pioneer of electronic music production in the UK which lead him to Cardiff University, where he specialised in electronic music, J. S. Bach, C18 England and soundtrack writing. It wasn't too long before Andrew's services were being called upon by the 'big boys', and he worked for many years with his brothers as part of the "Brass Monkeys" horn section, playing on many TV shows for the BBC, ITV and S4C.
Today, Andrew is in great demand as a session musician and has the ability to play most instruments he turns his hand to (well over 30 at the last count.) He has performed on many successful and well known albums, TV shows, soundtracks as well as live theatre productions.
Most of his time is spent in his state-of-the-art studio nestled in the quiet surroundings of the Swansea Valley. Here he has produced over 100 albums of a large range of genres, including classical, opera, rock, R&B and electronic, as well as many TV and film soundtracks. Andrew, a Welsh speaker, has also produced many projects in his native tongue.
A creative award-winning film maker, Andrew also specialises in compositing and special effects and has an ever-growing range of gear to compliment this.
Andrew is also a passionate worship leader at Swansea Valley Bible Church and dedicates much of his time to the Christian music industry.
